I saw this on Sci-Fi (pre-Syfy). I actually enjoyed this because of Bruce Campbell. His one-liners were great. The rest of the movie was classic B-Movie!

I actually just bought this on DVD from our local Video Store Closing Sale, so I’ll have to watch it again now!

Instead of listing more Attic shows I think would be *AWESOME,* I’ll make another argument for a random show to be added to the list of potential shows for this podcast to discuss (though it’s probably a few pages long already).

Anyway, I’d like to see what you guys think of the anime series The Big O. As the only anime series I’ve heard of to be brought back for a second season because of its strong international fanbase, there are some good pluses and horrible minuses for this series. Anyway, the quick summary:

Roger Smith is the top Negotiator in the isolated and contained Paradigm City and fights for what he believes is right. When his personal skills are not sufficient, he turns to his mecha megadeus Big O. Problems begin to arise as people begin having memories of further than forty years ago, when something happened to erase everyone’s memories and these people uncover some of the monstrosities that might be better to forget.

Anyway, I thought it was a decent series with enough clear Batman references among other things to make me smile. Though the second season sort of tried to David Lynch itself, I enjoyed it where I could. But yeah, what are your opinions on this series?

I think until episodes return to their delay release schedule, we must raid this editor/director person’s house & steal ALL his beer, booze, and other alcoholic drinkies. Raids will continue to ensure that additional booze is not bought. Raids will only stop until the episodes resume their regular airing time/schedule. If person is caught drinking while on a raid, then they will be knocked out, and a) drawn upon with permanent markers, b) decorated in fluffy boas, ridiculous make up, random pieces of clothing (male or female), and c) displayed out in front of his home. Anything confiscated may/may not be returned, depending on if raider drinks the confiscated drinks before the end of the raiding period.

Anyone agree to this plan?

I loved this show. I came across this in the late 80s when I got cable and watched on A&E and/or Sci-Fi. I’ve seen every episode at least 3 times.

This was also the first series I bought on VHS from Columbia House when they used to do that RETV program. It made me a big fan of Darrin McGavin.

This show has also aged very well because of its use of practical effects. This show was like the best classic horror/monster movies that worked because of McGavin. Its good campy fun with some really great actors.

Have you folks ever watched the Angel seasons backwards? A few months ago I was jonesing to watch Angel season 5 which I did but after that season it made me want to watch season 4 and then I just rolled with it and watched all seasons. Watching season 5-1 is Awesome!

Very nice promo. I was excited to hear the John Doe portion in particular, as my wife and I loved that show (and were *ticked* with the cliffhanger ending–and even more ticked when we read what the show’s creators say they had planned to resolve the cliffhanger). I recorded it to DVD off the SciFi channel a couple of years ago, since I knew of no other way to have the series on DVD (I check Amazon every month or so, but it seems hopeless that it’ll ever be released by Fox), and I’m planning a re-watch soon with a coworker who has never seen the show.

If you happen to be looking for a “guest panelist” whenever you feature John Doe on MilkCartonTV, I’d be happy to participte. Or, if I know when you’re doing it, I should be able to at elast call in some comments.

Wowwww… I had Nooo Idea what i was getting into with Alien Apocalypse. If I hadn’t watched alongside i think it would’ve been hilarious yet confusing…but watching the movie too, you guys made it genius! you guys knocked down the “Fence” with a battering ram comedy-wise! just another part of MCTV to look forward to!
